About
Macy C. Smith, Jr., M.D., FACC, FHRS, is a cardiac electrophysiologist with Alabama Cardiovascular Group, an affiliate of Grandview Health. He specializes in the treatment of heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation (AFib) and ventricular arrhythmias. He provides AFib patients with a range of treatment options including: medical management and current medication regimens to control heart rate and rhythm; AFib ablations; traditional and minimally invasive surgical procedures for AFib; device implantation as needed to control the heart rate; and left atrial appendage closure.
Dr. Smith holds membership in many organizations, including the American College of Cardiology, the Heart Rhythm Society and the American Society of Echocardiography. He is widely published in scientific journals regarding cardiac rhythm issues and treatments and has also presented on cardiac arrhythmias at multiple symposiums and grand round settings, including the Heart Rhythm Society's Annual Scientific Sessions Meeting.
