Joseph Martinez, M.D., MBA, began his healthcare career as patient care technician before pursuing his nursing degree. He worked as an RN/BSN in an emergency department for three and a half years before attending medical school.
The top two leading causes of death in the United States are heart disease and cancer. Of all cancer-related deaths, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the US. Dr. Martinez is committed to the field of cardiothoracic surgery as he gets to treat patients with life-threatening diseases daily. He is passionate about doing what he can to relieve the symptoms of physical decline and early death from heart disease. He is also passionate about extending the life expectancy of patients with lung cancer when found early. His mission is to treat these life-threatening diseases safely and effectively using minimally invasive measures, when possible, to minimize the pain and scars from surgery.
