About
Francis Benn, M.D., is an electrophysiologist with Alabama Cardiovascular Group, an affiliate of Grandview Medical Group. He specializes in the treatment of heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation (AFib) and ventricular tachycardia. He performs ablations of atrial fibrillation, supraventricular and ventricular tachycardias; and implants pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization devices. Dr. Benn is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine.
Dr. Benn's clinical experience includes:
- Arrhythmia management
- Ablation procedures for AFib/flutter, SVT, VT
- Implantable devices such as permanent pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillation and biventricular devices
- Device management
Dr. Benn earned his medical degree from the American University of Antigua - College of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency training at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Benn completed his cardiovascular fellowship training at the University of Kentucky and his clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship training at Ochsner Clinic Foundation.
Dr. Benn is passionate about providing high quality and compassionate care for his patients. He strongly believes in patients being active participants in their own medical care so they are able to make informed decisions about their own care.
Dr. Benn is an avid runner and enjoys competing in road races. His other hobbies include cooking, woodwork and traveling.
